Fair-repair ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal data collected via the fair-repair.be website ("Platform"). We attach the greatest importance to the privacy of our users ("you", "your").

A. Data you provide directly to us:

  • When making an appointment: When you request an appointment with a repairer via our Platform, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the details of your repair request.
  • When contacting us: If you contact us via a contact form or email, we process the data you provide to us.

B. Data we collect automatically:

  • Technical information: We automatically collect information about your device and browsing behavior, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, and the pages you visit on our Platform.

3. Why do we process this data and on what legal basis?

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Execution of our Services (Legal basis: contractual necessity): To forward your appointment request to the repairer of your choice.
  • Communication (Legal basis: legitimate interest): To be able to answer you if you contact us.
  • Improvement of our Platform (Legal basis: legitimate interest): We analyze the use of our Platform to improve the user experience, content, and functionalities. We use anonymized or pseudonymized data for this purpose.
  • Marketing and Advertising (Legal basis: consent): To show relevant advertisements via services such as Google AdSense.
  • Legal obligations: Sometimes we have to process data to comply with legal obligations.

4. With whom do we share your data?

We never sell your personal data to third parties. We only share data when strictly necessary:

  • Repairers (Providers): When you submit an appointment request, your contact details and the details of your request are shared with the relevant repairer so that they can contact you.
  • External Service Providers: We use third parties for services such as hosting, data analysis (Google Analytics), and advertising (Google AdSense). These parties only have access to the data necessary to perform their tasks and are contractually obliged to respect confidentiality.
  • Affiliate Partners: Our Platform contains links to webshops (such as Bol.com). When you click on such a link, you allow yourself to be redirected to their website and their privacy policy applies. We do not share personal data with these partners.
  • Legal authorities: In exceptional cases, we may be required to share personal data by order of a competent authority.

5. How long do we keep your data?

We do not store your personal data longer than is strictly necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with our legal obligations. Data related to appointment requests is deleted after a reasonable period. Statistical data may be stored longer in anonymized form.
